Exhibition Background

1. Please tell us about your profile.

A writer from Chiba Prefecture.

Taking the complex emotions and instability of young people as his theme, he expresses humanity through facial expressions of hesitation and frustration. Emotions that can be seen as negative can sometimes torment people, but at the same time they give people a sense of being alive. His representative work, "LOST BOYS," is a perfect example of such a moment.

2. What first got you interested in art and artists?

I've loved drawing since I was a child, and I often drew for fun. Previously, I was mainly working on client projects, but as the theme I wanted to express became clearer, I started to paint with acrylic paints on canvas. I'm clumsy and not very good at talking, so I feel that painting is the most effective way to communicate something to someone.

3. Please tell us about the theme of this exhibition.

The theme of this work is "ESCAPE". I drew it with the theme of escaping from the hustle and bustle of the city into nature. The work shows the LOST BOYS enjoying nature, set in lakes, mountains, forests and norm.

4. Could you please give us an artistic commentary on the main visual work this time?

This is a scene from when they were escaping from the city by car. The Lost Boys get a little flustered after taking a wrong turn on the way. It will be a good memory to look back on later.

5. Please tell us if there were any difficulties or challenges you faced in creating the items for this exhibition.

It wasn't difficult, but I was particularly conscious of incorporating the atmosphere of the exhibition location into the work. I started by imagining how the LOST BOYS would spend their time in the nature-rich area around norm. I personally love the outdoors, especially camping pictures, so I had a lot of fun creating this work.

6. What aspect of the exhibition would you like guests to pay attention to or enjoy?

I hope that guests will relate their experiences at norm. to the film, such as scenes of the car ride on the road, the bonfire, and relaxing in their rooms.

7. Please give a message to guests staying at the hotel.

I hope you enjoy the work along with your wonderful memories of norm .

8. What challenges and plans do you have for your future activities?

I want to portray new LOST BOYS that even I don't know, mixing different places and different cultures.

9. What do you think is important when creating art?

The most important thing is to enjoy drawing. I feel that if you enjoy drawing, the work will naturally turn out to be a good one. I want to create a work that makes me think, "I want to display this in my home, so I don't want to sell it..." after I finish it.

10. What does art mean to you?

It's something that you can empathize with and link to your past experiences when you see it. But since it's displayed in your room and you see it every day, I think it's fine to just think, "The color is nice" or "There's something about it that I like."
